Happy Holidays everyone!  We hope you are all enjoying visiting family and friends over the festive season as much as we do.  So for this Christmas, we have compiled our 5 favourite reasons to come back to Roma at Easter for Roma’s Easter in the Country!

Happy Holidays everyone!  We hope you are all enjoying visiting family and friends over the festive season as much as we do.  So for this Christmas, we have compiled our 5 favourite reasons to come back to Roma at Easter for Roma’s Easter in the Country!

ONE – Ergon Energy Street Parade (SATURDAY 15th April 2017, 9 – 10am)

Theatre, colour, and fun is the trademark of the Easter in the Country Ergon Energy Street Parade with its procession of wacky and wonderful floats, quirky street characters and street festival full of entertainment. This year’s floats are supported by a Ergon Energy, Western Star and Easter In The Country and are bound to delight old and young alike.  Make sure you bring your own chair to get the best seat in the house!

TWO – Outback Tucker Under the Stars (THURSDAY 6 – 11pm)

Everyone is invited to the Opening Dinner for Roma's Easter in the Country in 2017. The opening will be held at the iconic Roma Saleyards (around the Bull Ring) on the outskirts of town.  Enjoy the local produce and a relaxed atmosphere as you prepare for the biggest Easter weekend of your life!  Mat Golinski will be the Celebrity Chef for the evening. Tickets will be available soon.

THREE – Professional Bull Ride (FRIDAY 5:30 – 10pm)

Saddle up and prepare for our family friendly Bull Ride at Bassett Park.  The competition is one of the biggest in the country with great prizes up for grabs as part of the Bucking Bull Futurity and Classic.  So sit back and relax at the alcohol-free family night.  Tickets will be available at the gate.

FOUR – Maranoa Performance Poetry and Song (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY)

2017 will feature an exciting new entertainment segment that encourages creativity and talent.   The competition aims to foster talent in poetry and song and have a lot of fun doing it! Performances will feature the singing of country style songs and recited poetry by local presenters.  Come along and give it a go or enjoy the performances by cheering on your favourite (you may even help them win a prize!).  Featuring some amazing artists including:

  • Jeff Brown –Golden Guitar winner and bush balladeer
  • Keith Jamieson – Golden Guitar Winner and bush balladeer
  • Alisha Smith – winner of several awards and Australia’s only lady playing traditional country ballads
  • Caitlyn Jamieson – 2016 New talent winner Bungendore
  • Stan Coster – memorial Bush Ballad awards
  • Ray Essery – bush poet

FIVE – Easter Egg Hunt (FRIDAY 2:30 – 5:30pm)

Get the kid involved in 2017’s Monster Easter Egg Hunt with Kangagang.  Join us at the Big Rig Parklands for an afternoon of fun.  Children are welcome to play some old-fashioned games - egg and spoon races, three legged races and sack races. Finally, the Easter Bunny will bring his basket of eggs and there will be a monster hunt. Be sure to bring your own chair or blanket, sunscreen and hat.  The kids will have fun for hours!
