Maranoa Performance Poetry and Song

Roma's 2017 Easter In The Country will feature an exciting new entertainment segment that encourages creativity and talent.  The event will feature singing of country style sons and recited poetry by local presenters and invited songsters.

Roma's Easter In The Country Committee are aiming to foster talent in poetry and song and have a lot of fun doing it.  We are encouraging all ages and are particularly keen to have school age entrants with categories and prize money for all.  

The Maranoa Performance Poetry and Song event will have three age groups:  Open, Secondary School Students and Primary School Students.  Poetry is in the following categories:

-  Reciting a tradition Poem - written 50 or more ago

-  Reciting a contemporary poem

-  Reciting a original poem (by its author)

-  Maranoa Poet (Maranoa resident who is an entrant in the original poem section)

Song categories are:

-  Song of choice

-  Original Song

"Country" style themes will be preferred.  

WALK UPS WILL BE WELCOME ON THE DAY.

There will be a novel twist to the judging with the amount of audience appreciation scored as the third judge.

Entry  $10

Refreshments in the form of afternoon tea will be provided.

Winners will receive prizemoney.

  • Alisha Smith - Winner of  several awards Australia‚Äôs only  lady playing Tradational Country and ballads
