Roma’s Easter in the Country 2019 has been run and won. The winners, 13500 attendees that descended on the small outback town to celebrate, what is fast becoming, the premier Easter event in Australia.
Great weather and great crowds added to a carnival atmosphere that featured the traditional outback sports of rodeo and bull riding combined with a myriad of family-based activities, and of course, a much-anticipated visit from the Easter Bunny.
Organising Committee, Chairperson, Jenny Flynn, said, ‘We were delighted with this year’s event. Visitors from right across Australia enjoyed Roma’s authentic country hospitality; challenged locals in their natural habitat, and the early birds were treated to one of the best ever Outback Tucker Under the Stars gourmet meals, prepared by super chef, Matt Golinski.
‘Matt’s dinner is the first event to sell out. Diners indulge in premium grade, local grown produce and enjoy live entertainment, all under the canopy of the outback’s kaleidoscope of stars,’ she said.
Planning for next year’s event is well underway, with the retention of the old favourites and the injection of some new blood.
