Neil Turner Weir is a small weir located on the northern side of the Mitchell township.  The weir holds back the waters of the Maranoa River. To the west on the banks of the river, is a fishing spot known as Fisherman’s Rest.  The weir was built in 1984 and is made of concrete and filled with sand.

BBQ as well as fish and chips will be available throughout the day with a ice-cream van for refreshments.

Raffles will also be run on the day.  It should be a great day to enjoy the country atmosphere and the friendliness of the local community.
