Neil Turner Weir is a small weir located on the northern sign of the town of Mitchell.  The weir holds back the waters of the Maranoa River. To the west, on the banks of the river held back by the weir, is a fishing spot known as Fisherman’s Rest.  The weir was built in 1984 and is made of concrete and filled with sand.

BBQ will be available throughout the day with a ice-cream van for refreshments.

Prizes will be presented for each of the following categories:  Male, Female and Junior Boy and Junior Girl – so bring the whole family for a day out fishing.

Raffles will also be run on the day.  It should be a great day to enjoy the country atmosphere and the friendliness of the local community.
