Be guided on a morning nature walk to learn about the local environment and wildlife seen at the Roma Bush Gardens site. There will be billy tea and coffee served with bush tucker pancakes.

Maranoa Monster Fishing Competition
Time: Commences at 7am. Presentations to be held at 1:00pm.
Venue: Neil Turner Weir – Mitchell – 50minutes drive west of Roma
Cost: Nomination fees – $10 per individual and per family for members. $10 per person for non-members per individual.

This competition is hosted by the Mitchell Fishing and Restocking Group at the Neil Turner Weir.
Neil Turner Weir is a small weir located on the northern side of the Mitchell township. The weir holds back the waters of the Maranoa River. To the west on the banks of the river, is a fishing spot known as Fisherman’s Rest. The weir was built in 1984 and is made of concrete and filled with sand.
Ice-creams and drinks available. You are welcome to bring your own picnic. Food is only a skip away by phoning the local servo for burgers and fish and chips.
Raffles will also be run on the day. It should be a great day to enjoy the country atmosphere and the friendliness of the local community.
Prizes will be presented for each of the following categories: Male, Female and Junior Boy and Junior Girl – so bring the whole family for a day out fishing.
Moorelands Bush Nursery
Venue: Moorelands Bush Nursery, Dargal Road, Roma.
Time: Nursery and cafe open 8:00am to 2:00pm.
How to get there:
Drive west along Miscamble St and then onto Dargal Road, following the signage.
Cost: Free.
Café will be open for a great breakfast and coffee/cake for morning tea. Everything is home made. This is a beautiful place to meet with friends and enjoy the outdoors.
Enjoy the drive to Moorelands. There is a wonderful garden to browse and lots of plants, pots and ornaments for sale.
Roma Butter Factory – Self-guided tours of the Roma Butter Factory Museum.
Time: 9am to 2:00pm
Venue: 18-20 Station Street, Roma
Cost: Adults – $5, Children under 14 free
For the history buffs take a visit to the Roma Butter Factory and learn about the history of the factory and how it contributed to the development of the town and Roma as a farming community in the early days.
Enjoy the self-guided tour and learn about the history of the factory and the dairying industry.

Up the Creek Garage Museum

Venue: 14 George Street, Roma (just behind Shady’s Lagoon / 15 minute walk along the Adungadoo Pathway from The Big Rig / 10 minutes from the Post Office.)

A fabulous collage of photos that tell a million stories and a visit not to be missed when you are in town for Roma’s Easter In The Country. This is a museum full of memories.

Open Gardens at ‘Mooga’ and ‘Wataview’
The country gardens will open for visitor this Easter and both are situated just 15 minutes north of Roma and only 2 klms apart. “Mooga” is the home of Annette and Mark Huntley and “Wataview” is the home of jenny and Shane Ferry. (Annette and Jenny are sisters). Each garden is well established and both have been built around family living in mind.

“Mooga” has multiple garden areas set amongst a large expanse of lawn that connects them all together while still allowing a view of the surrounding countryside. Each garden has a little “something” of interest for both young and old. A canteen will operate all day serving tea and coffee and delicious home cooked treats. Lawn games and a children’s play area is available for use so come along for a look, to relax or play.

Wataview – the home of Shane and Jenny Ferry
“Wataview” is situated on the edge of a high ridge overlooking the Bungil Creek. The garden has its own running Creek that gently runs into a fenced pond, making use of it’s sloping terrain. There are “free flight” bird aviaries, garden that suroudn a large lawn, orchards and play areas for children. Come an enjoy the panoramic views as you wander around the garden. A canteen will operate selling sausages in bread, hot dogs, cold drinks and super doopers.

Xtreme Bulls are pleased to be heading back to Roma’s Easter in the Country weekend for another stop of the Xtreme Bulls Australia Tour.
This will be Roma’s seventh Xtreme Bulls event and one not to miss out on. Featuring Australia’s elite and up and coming Bull Riders taking on the Gill Bros Rodeo Company’s Xtreme Bulls! Be sure to catch the action ringside and on the big screen replays.
The event is a classic, so sit back and relax at the alcohol free (due to legal requirements) family night – one not to be missed!
